To depict is to reveal what lies beneath. Every depiction demands attention. What you see depends on how you see.

Photography has long been trusted as a witness. A medium that promises truth through its clarity, its precision, its stillness. Yet every photograph is also a construction: a frame chosen, a moment isolated, a perspective fixed. What it shows is never the whole, and what it hides often speaks louder than what it reveals. This work returns to past photographs, treating them not as static records but as recollections. Time has reshaped them, memory has softened or distorted them, and context has turned them into something new. In their textures, lies emerge not as deceptions to be condemned, but as traces of how perception itself shifts. The camera may appear objective, but art is never neutral. Each image carries within it multiple truths: the truth of the moment it was taken, the truth of how it is remembered, and the truth of how it is seen now. Together, these truths overlap, contradict, and blur a fabric of beautiful lies that invite us to look closer. To encounter these photographs is to step into that fabric. They ask not for passive viewing, but for examination. They remind us that meaning is never fixed; it moves, it misleads, it transforms. And in that transformation, a deeper story unfolds. - INKENITO 2025

AKL

Illusions whisper through walls and windows. Every structure is a mask. What feels like home may belong elsewhere.

If lies whisper through memory, ILLUSIONS breathe through sight. Buildings become patterns, textures become disguises. In INKENITO’s gaze, Auckland is unmoored its identity blurred, its surfaces masquerading as somewhere else entirely. What should be familiar dissolves into strangeness. Facades flatten into geometry, glass folds into abstraction, and the city becomes an enigma. Viewers pause, unsettled, because the photographs resist location. This could be America. This could be Australia. It could be anywhere and that uncertainty is the point. INKENITO does not simply document architecture; he alters its presence. A wall becomes a fragment of a labyrinth. A tower becomes an illusion of another skyline. Place is not lost, but disguised, inviting us to question how much of “where we are” depends on how we see. - INKENITO 2025

Every veil both conceals and reveals. What lies behind remains uncertain. To look is to wonder if you’ve seen at all.

Beneath every photograph lingers a veil thin enough to hint, thick enough to obscure. The images do not resolve into certainty; they drift between truth and illusion, between what is seen and what is imagined. In this tension, INKENITO invites us to dwell not in answers, but in ambiguity to accept that the world resists being fully known, just as the lens resists capturing all of what it beholds. The veil is not a barrier, but a reminder: every act of looking is also an act of unknowing. - INKENITO 2025
